Secret Beach in the Dunes
Zuiderstrand (South Beach) is one of the most beautiful parts of The Hague. This beautiful and peaceful beach is often referred to by locals as "the peaceful beach", it is the secret alternative to Scheveningen and Kijkduin. It is located behind the dunes of Westduinpark. This is why you will mainly see locals of Den Haag here - and some adventurous tourists that find their way there.
During the summer, Zuiderstrand is the perfect spot for relaxing at one of the authentic beach pavilions with an open view of the magnificent sunset. The pavilions here are famous for their friendly personnel, delicious food and relaxed atmosphere. There you can regularly enjoy cultural activities, such as concerts, theatre performances and beach parties.

The beach clubs at Zuiderstrand are open from March to the end of October. In the winter Zuiderstrand is completely empty and visitors can enjoy an uninterrupted view from Scheveningen along to the Hook of Holland.
Dogs and horses are allowed in Zuiderstrand at all times during the winter months (October - April). during the summer months, they are only allowed to be there between 21:00 and 07:00. Dog owners must carry a bag and clean after their dogs.
Zuiderstrand is hidden behind the dunes, and is only accessible by bike or walking, this makes it a true favorite among the locals of Den Haag, away from over crowded beaches and touristy crowds.
